This riddim had been getting relicked for years before it was officially named after Shabba’s 1989 hit “Peanie Peanie.” One of the earlier successes was Cocoa Tea’s 1987 song “Lonesome Side.” This is another example of a riddim that spans decades and surfaces again and again following trends from analogue to digital but always sure to ram the dancehall.
